As a person raised in a Christ-centered home I had exposure to the Bible and much opportunity to learn about the Lord Jesus. Growing older, however, I was searching for more truth, going from denomination to denomination trying to understand the Bible. Was there really a group of believers out there whose center was Christ? Time passed, I was quite discouraged and by now well into my thirties. Time seemed to be running out. My first impression when I met with the church in Lubbock was 1) these people REALLY love the Lord and 2) I’d never met more sincere believers! Nothing fake or put on, but the real thing. Praise the Lord! I have been meeting with the local church ever since and I can testify that the Bible has been opened up to me; but more importantly I’ve started establishing a personal relationship with the Lord—which is what I was longing and searching for all along.
